Ixonia, WI – Fred McCormick, Chair Emeritus of the Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, has announced that Tamara Wilson, Executive Vice President; Nick Kiederlen, Plant Manager; and Rustin Wittenburg, Supervisor of Bryant Products, Inc., were honored with Patriot Awards in recognition of extraordinary support of one of their employees – SSG Myles W. Roeder – who serves in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

The presentation took place at the organization’s office, W1388 Elmwood Avenue, Ixonia, on May 10, 2017.

According to McCormick, “Wilson, Kiederlen, and Wittenburg were nominated for this prestigious national award by their employee SSG Myles W. Roeder, who is a member of the Army National Guard and assigned to A Battery, 1st Battalion, 121st Artillery, Sussex, WI. The Patriot Award is only presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members, but demonstrate superior support to the military employee and his/her family. The National Guard and Reserve Forces are the cornerstone of our national defense. Wilson, Kiederlen, and Wittenburg have provided outstanding support and cooperation and have exhibited a patriotic spirit which is reflected in the significance of being a recipient of the Patriot Award.”

In receiving his award, Nick Kiederlen said, “I am humbled and honored that Myles would nominate me and Bryant for this award. Myles works hard and we are happy to support his time in the military.” Rusty Wittenburg agrees and adds, “After 10 years of service in the National Guard, I understand only too well the difficulties of managing work and my military duty. Bryant was always accommodating to my training and drill schedules and I am privileged to be in a position to support a fellow military member.”

As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions that require extraordinary actions on the part of everyday citizens, ESGR will continue to be the informational agency for the employers of citizen warriors. More information about ESGR Employee Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities is available at www.esgr.mil, or by calling Chris Campbell of the Wisconsin ESGR Committee at 608-242-3169.
